🎨πŸͺ¨ Paint the sacred red heart of Australia rising 348 metres straight up β€” Uluru from the desert floor The extraordinary massive sacred UNESCO World Heritage 348-metre-tall red sandstone monolith rising towering dramatically above the viewer in dramatic soaring vertical perspective against a bright cobalt sky with dramatic white cumulus clouds. Brilliant warm crimson-red and warm ochre-red Uluru sandstone monolith rising in dramatic soaring vertical perspective catching brilliant afternoon light in exquisite detail with beautiful visible ancient sandstone texture. Warm ochre-red iron-oxide sandstone surface catching brilliant afternoon light. Warm cream caves and dramatic warm charcoal horizontal water erosion patterns visible on the massive sandstone face catching brilliant afternoon light rising dramatically upward. Dramatic warm charcoal deep vertical crevasses catching dramatic afternoon shadow. Warm ochre-red Australian Red Centre desert plain seen in dramatic upward perspective catching brilliant afternoon warmth. Warm ochre-green Australian spinifex grasses in the immediate foreground seen in dramatic upward perspective catching brilliant afternoon warmth. Warm chestnut-green desert oak trees framing the composition rising dramatically upward. Warm cream and warm charcoal sandstone details visible on the massive vertical face β€” visible sacred rock art panels of the Anangu Aboriginal people catching brilliant afternoon light. Warm silhouette of a lone Anangu Aboriginal traditional owner in warm crimson and ochre traditional dress walking along the base of Uluru at scale catching brilliant afternoon warmth. Warm silhouette of tourists on the base walking track at dramatic scale showing the massive size of Uluru. Brilliant white cumulus cloud formations catching brilliant midday sun creating dramatic sky drama above the towering monolith. Uluru from the desert floor is Australia itself β€” the sacred red heart of the continent, and the spiritual centre of Anangu Country. And it is your painting. Stand at the base at 3 pm. Look straight up 348 metres. Let the brush find the crimson. Paint it on your iPad or print it and paint on canvas β€” both are included. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎨 WHAT YOU GET βœ”οΈ 5 difficulty levels β€” 16, 24, 48, 72 and 96 colors β€” beginner to expert in one download βœ”οΈ 3 outline versions β€” numbered, blank and preview βœ”οΈ SVG + PDF + PNG file formats β€” print at any size without blurring βœ”οΈ Procreate colour swatches β€” drop the palette straight into your iPad βœ”οΈ HEX-coded colour palette on every page βœ”οΈ Instant digital download β€” nothing shipped ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✨ A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY Uluru β€” traditionally known in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Aboriginal language and historically as Ayers Rock in English β€” is the single most sacred and most iconic landscape feature anywhere on the entire Australian continent. Uluru sits at the heart of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory of central Australia, approximately 450 kilometres southwest of Alice Springs β€” deep in the extraordinary Red Centre desert wilderness of central Australia. The massive Uluru monolith rises 348 metres above the surrounding Australian Red Centre desert plain β€” approximately as tall as the Eiffel Tower in Paris. But the extraordinary visible portion of Uluru rising above the desert surface is only a small fraction of the total massive underground rock structure: geological research documents that Uluru extends approximately 2.5 kilometres beneath the surrounding desert surface, meaning the total massive rock structure is one of the largest single monolithic rock formations anywhere on Earth. Uluru was geologically formed approximately 550 million years ago through extraordinary geological processes of sedimentary rock formation and gradual mountain-uplift tectonic activity. The distinctive extraordinary warm crimson-red and warm ochre-red colouring of Uluru comes from the extraordinary high iron oxide content of the ancient sandstone rock β€” the same iron oxide chemical that gives Mars its distinctive red planetary appearance. When brilliant Australian sunlight strikes the massive Uluru sandstone face directly, the surface iron oxide reflects extraordinary warm coral and crimson wavelengths back to the viewer, producing the extraordinary distinctive glowing warm red appearance that has become the iconic visual signature of the entire Australian Red Centre. Uluru has been continuously and profoundly sacred to the Anangu Aboriginal people for over 30,000 years β€” one of the longest continuously observed religious traditions anywhere on Earth. In traditional Anangu religious tradition, Uluru forms one of the most central and most spiritually powerful landscape features in the extraordinary Anangu Tjukurpa (the sacred creation-time law that governs all traditional Anangu life). Traditional Anangu religious tradition treats Uluru as the sacred landscape record of the mythological creation-time journeys of countless ancient Anangu ancestral beings β€” with individual caves, water holes, rock formations, and vertical clefts on the Uluru surface each carrying deep specific sacred meanings within the extraordinary integrated system of Anangu sacred oral tradition. Portions of Uluru β€” particularly several sacred cave sites and sacred rock art panels β€” are entirely restricted from non-Anangu access as sacred private religious ground reserved exclusively for traditional Anangu senior initiation ceremonies. Uluru was formally named "Ayers Rock" in 1873 by British-born colonial explorer William Gosse in honour of Sir Henry Ayers β€” the then-Premier of the colonial South Australian government. This English colonial name remained the officially recognised name of the site for approximately 130 years. In 1985 the entire Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park landscape was formally returned to Anangu traditional ownership through the extraordinary Uluru handback ceremony β€” one of the most important moments in the history of Australian Aboriginal land rights recognition. In 1993 the site's official English-language name was formally changed to "Ayers Rock / Uluru" β€” recognising both cultural traditions. In 2002 the site's official name order was formally reversed to "Uluru / Ayers Rock" β€” making the traditional Anangu name the primary official designation. The Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is now co-managed jointly by the Anangu traditional owners and Parks Australia β€” one of the world's pioneering examples of indigenous-led natural heritage management. In October 2019, following extraordinary decades of respectful Anangu community advocacy, climbing to the summit of sacred Uluru was formally and permanently prohibited β€” recognising the profound sacred significance of the monolith and ending a controversial international practice that had disrespected traditional Anangu religious tradition for decades. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 for its outstanding natural values, and was re-designated in 1994 to also recognise its outstanding cultural values β€” becoming one of only a small number of World Heritage sites globally with the extraordinary "dual World Heritage" designation. Standing quietly at the base of the sacred Uluru monolith at 3:15 PM on a warm July afternoon, looking directly upward at the massive 348-metre iron-oxide-red sandstone face rising vertically above you into the extraordinary cobalt Central Australian sky while a rare wedge-tailed eagle soars dramatically along the towering vertical rock face and a lone Anangu traditional owner walks quietly along the sacred base walking track beside you, is one of the most spiritually powerful and quietly transcendent experiences anywhere on Earth. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ πŸ“₯ HOW IT WORKS 1.
