🎨🔒 Paint the most romantic bridge in Germany — Cologne's Hohenzollern Bridge and its thousand love locks Every padlock tells a story. Red ones, gold ones, silver ones, engraved with names and initials and dates — thousands upon thousands of them covering every inch of the Hohenzollern Bridge railings, glinting in the afternoon sun. And above it all, rising from the far bank, the twin Gothic spires of Cologne Cathedral soar into the sky — 157 metres of medieval stone that took 632 years to build. A train thunders across the tracks alongside. The Rhine flows below. This is Cologne at its most romantic and most alive. Come for the locks. Stay for the Cathedral. Paint it all. Paint it on your iPad or print it and paint on canvas — both are included. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✨ A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY The love lock tradition on the Hohenzollern Bridge began in the early 2000s — couples attach a padlock to the railings and throw the key into the Rhine as a symbol of eternal love. Nobody officially sanctioned it. Nobody planned it. The city tried to remove the locks in 2008, then gave up. Today there are estimated to be over 500,000 padlocks on the bridge, weighing approximately 20 tonnes. The bridge itself was built between 1907 and 1911 and inaugurated by Emperor Wilhelm II — and at 1,200 to 1,500 trains crossing every day, it remains the busiest railway bridge in Germany. Behind it, Cologne Cathedral is Germany's most visited landmark, started in 1248 and completed — after a 632-year construction — in 1880. The Madonnina at the top is 157 metres above the ground. The love locks are considerably closer. Both are worth painting. 🔒 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💗 WHY YOU'LL LOVE PAINTING THIS ONE - Thousands of multicoloured padlocks in red, gold, silver and blue create one of the most vivid and joyful palettes in the entire collection - The Cathedral spires rising above the bridge add dramatic depth and scale to the composition - The love lock close-up detail at the higher levels is extraordinarily satisfying to paint through — meditative and personal - The most romantic painting in the Germany collection — and a perfect couples gift - Zero mess if you paint it on the iPad — same Rhine breeze, no cleanup ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏆 5 DIFFICULTY LEVELS — one painting, your pace - 16 colors — relaxed & beginner-friendly, bold vivid shapes - 24 colors — easy and breezy, a gentle step up - 32 colors — the sweet spot of detail and ease - 48 colors — for the detail lovers who want depth - 96 colors — 🔥 ULTRA HARD bonus level, gallery-grade lock detail and Cathedral stone Start easy and work your way up, or jump straight to the challenge.
