π¨ποΈ Paint the most photographed barn in America β Mormon Row and the Tetons at sunrise
Weathered amber wood. A rust-red roof glowing in the first light of dawn. The jagged Teton Range rising sharply behind, blazing brilliant pink and gold in the alpenglow. Warm sagebrush stretching across Antelope Flats, a split-rail fence in the foreground, and a Wyoming sky just beginning to turn cobalt. The T.A. Moulton Barn at Mormon Row is the single most photographed barn in the United States β and the postcard shot of Grand Teton National Park. A one-hundred-year-old homestead, a mountain range 100 kilometres long, and one perfect morning. And it is your painting.
Come out at first light. Watch the peaks catch fire. Let the brush find the amber. Paint it on your iPad or print it and paint on canvas β both are included.

β¨ A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
Mormon Row sits on Antelope Flats in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, right in the shadow of the Teton Range. In the 1890s, a group of Mormon settlers led by the Moulton and Chambers families travelled north from Idaho and homesteaded this remote sagebrush plain under the Homestead Act of 1862, each family claiming 160 acres of some of the most beautiful β and most difficult β farmland in the American West. Twenty-seven homesteads once stood along the row. The families dug irrigation ditches by hand, hauled every log for miles, and built their houses, barns and schoolhouses shoulder to shoulder because winter in Jackson Hole is not a season to face alone. T.A. Moulton and his family began building their now-famous pink-and-amber barn around 1913 and worked on it, off and on, for more than 30 years β every board hand-cut, every joint set by hand. Most of the homesteads were sold to the National Park Service and torn down between the 1950s and 1980s, but the T.A. Moulton Barn and its neighbouring John Moulton Barn were preserved and stand today exactly where the Moultons built them. Behind them rises the Cathedral Group of the Tetons β 4,199-metre Grand Teton, 3,842-metre Mount Moran, and the jagged spires between them β a range so young geologically (only nine million years old) that it is still growing about a millimetre a year. Every summer sunrise, photographers from all over the world line up in the sagebrush to catch the same moment: the alpenglow hitting the peaks, the amber wood warming, and a whole family's century of work standing quietly in the middle of it.
