π¨πΈ Paint the beating heart of the North Coast - Cleveland skyline and Lake Erie at sunset
The vibrant Cleveland downtown skyline of skyscrapers including the iconic Terminal Tower, Key Tower and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame glowing brilliant coral and gold in the last light against a burning magenta sky. Deep silver-blue Lake Erie in the foreground reflecting the fiery sky. Warm cobblestone lakefront path from Edgewater Park. Warm silhouettes of joggers and strollers. Dense green Edgewater Park trees framing the composition. Cleveland at sunset is Ohio at its most beloved and most photographed β the North Coast at its best, and the postcard shot of the Buckeye State. And it is your painting.
Grab a lakefront bench. Watch the skyline catch fire. Let the brush find the coral. Paint it on your iPad or print it and paint on canvas β both are included.

β¨ A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
Cleveland sits on the southern shore of Lake Erie at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River in northeast Ohio. Founded in 1796 by Connecticut surveyor General Moses Cleaveland (the "a" was later dropped from the city's name by a newspaper editor trying to fit the town name on a masthead), the city grew into one of the great industrial powerhouses of North America during the 19th and early 20th centuries. By 1920, Cleveland was the fifth-largest city in the United States, home to the massive John D. Rockefeller Standard Oil operation, and one of the leading steel, shipping, and manufacturing hubs in the Midwest. The Cleveland skyline is dominated by two of the most iconic buildings in the American Midwest. The 235-metre Terminal Tower β completed in 1930 β was the tallest building in the world outside New York City at the time of its completion, and it remained the tallest building in Ohio for over 60 years. It was designed by the Van Sweringen brothers as part of an ambitious mixed-use development that included the Cleveland Union Terminal train station, and it became a symbol of Cleveland's Jazz Age prosperity. The 289-metre Key Tower (completed 1991) is now the tallest building in Ohio and the 22nd-tallest building in the United States. It was designed by CΓ©sar Pelli in the classic post-modernist skyscraper style. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum β the trapezoidal glass pyramid on the North Coast Harbor β was designed by celebrated Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei (also the designer of the Louvre Pyramid in Paris) and opened in September 1995 at a cost of $92 million. Cleveland won the right to host the museum after Ohio Senator Howard Metzenbaum led a fierce lobbying campaign β arguing that Cleveland deserved it because Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed had coined the phrase "rock and roll" on the airwaves of local station WJW-AM in 1951. Today the Rock Hall inducts new artists every year and houses one of the world's largest collections of rock and roll memorabilia. Edgewater Park itself β the vantage point of this scene β is a 147-acre lakefront park on Cleveland's near west side, restored and reopened in 2016 after decades of decline. It offers the most-photographed view of the Cleveland skyline in the city. Cleveland has undergone one of the most remarkable urban renaissances in recent American history β with over $8 billion invested in downtown revitalisation since 2010, a booming healthcare and biomedical economy centred on the Cleveland Clinic (frequently ranked the best hospital in America), and a resurgent lakefront and Cuyahoga River waterfront. Standing on the shore of Edgewater at sunset, watching the light catch Terminal Tower and the Rock Hall pyramid across the harbor, is one of the most quietly beautiful skyline experiences in the American Midwest.
